By modifying the criminal matter law, the government attempts to sanction crimes before they are committed

The draft ordinance, prepared by the Ministry of Justice in a rush at the end of last week, under the pressure of the civil society, proves that with the amendments to the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code should not be prepared hurriedly, because they risk to throw the whole justice process into chaos and do more harm than good in fixing what was broken by the coming into effect of the new codes on February 1 st .

Prison budgets in Romania (2009-2011)

Because of increasing reluctance of the National Administration of Penitentiaries and heads of penitentiaries to collect and share data on budget allocation and expenditures, APADOR-CH decided to make use of existing Freedom of Information legislation and formulate FOI requests to all prisons in the country (46) to provide the annual budget allocation and expenditure for years 2009, 2010 and 2011.

APADOR-CH asks for the Special Telecommunication Service (STS) to be aboliched

APADOR-CH precizează că încă din anul 2006, când a formulat observații cu privire la pachetul de legi privind securitatea națională, a cerut public desființarea Serviciului de Telecomunicații Speciale (STS), care nu-și justifică existența ca structură independentă, militarizată și inclusă în categoria serviciilor “secrete”/de informații din sistemul național de apărare.

APADOR-CH și alte 17 organizații au recurs la procedura "amicus curiae”, la Curtea Constituțională, pentru a împiedica Parlamentul să desființeze ONG-urile

APADOR-CH, susținută de alte 17 organizații neguvernamentale, a depus la Curtea Constituțională o intervenție prin procedura “amicus curiae” prin care atrage atenția că articolul II din Legea pentru modificarea și completarea Ordonanței Guvernului nr. 26/2000 cu privire la asociații și fundații este neconstituțional.
